Cornwall is the far southwestern tip of England — raw, atmospheric, and dramatically different from London. Most international visitors never make it here, which means the ones who do never forget it. If you loved Stonehenge, Cornwall will stun you: it has its own stone circles, a medieval castle on a tidal island, UNESCO-listed cliff mine ruins, and coastline that looks like another world.
Getting to Cornwall from London

- The Minack Theatre, Porthcurno — Open-air cliff-top theatre carved into rock above the Atlantic. Even without a performance, the grounds are extraordinary. £6/adult.
- St Michael’s Mount extended visit — £14/adult (National Trust). Allow 2–3 hours for the castle rooms, chapel, and gardens. The view from the battlements is among Cornwall’s finest.

- Weather: 13–18°C in late May. Atlantic breeze makes it feel cooler. Always bring a waterproof layer — Cornwall weather is famously changeable even in summer.
- Mobility: The Kernow tour is primarily vehicle-based with short walks — very accessible for moderate mobility. Most stops are flat or gently sloping. St Michael’s Mount castle interior has some steep stairs.
- Crowds: Late May is pleasantly quiet before peak summer. Far less crowded than July or August.
